Οι ελληνικές Αρχές πρέπει να «ξυπνήσουν» και να κάνουν περισσότερα ώστε να φιλοξενήσουν τον όλο και μεγαλύτερο αριθμό προσφύγων και μεταναστών που καταφθάνουν στη χώρα μας, δήλωσε σήμερα Παρασκευή ο διευθυντής του ευρωπαϊκού γραφείου της Ύπατης Αρμοστείας του ΟΗΕ για τους Πρόσφυγες, Βανσάν Κοσετέλ.

Το έχω ξαναγράψει εκατό φορές: Η Δημοκρατία, την αποκατάσταση της οποίας γιορτάζουμε σήμερα – έστω και υπό οδυνηρές συνθήκες – είναι η μεγαλύτερη κατάκτηση της Μεταπολίτευσης. Και άξιζε κάθε κόπο και κάθε κόστοε.

Είναι λάθος (που μπορεί να αποδειχθεί ιστορικά μοιραίο) να συγχέουμε τη Δημοκρατία με τις πρόσκαιρες οικονομικές δυσκολίες.

UNESCO Votes On Additions to World Heritage List

UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee, meeting in Germany, said Saturday that it had designated seven cultural sites for addition to its World Heritage List.

Two of the sites are in Iran and one each in China, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Mongolia and France.
The U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) bestows the designation to recognize global significance and to help in preservation.
