FAO, WFP warn against ignoring famine alarm in Yemen, Africa
The leaders of the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Food Programme (WFP) called on the international community to urgently step up action to prevent further hunger deaths in four countries stalked by famine: north-eastern Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan and Yemen.

Desperate farm families in eastern Ukraine forced into ‘difficult choices’ to survive – (UN agency)

UN, 7 December 2015 – The absence of financial, physical, social and human resources has left some 700,000 farm households extremely vulnerable in conflict-torn eastern Ukraine, the results of a United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) household survey revealed today, and also warned of food insecurity among those families due to “skyrocketing” commodity prices.

UN, 4 June 2015 – The head of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) today called for a global movement to eradicate hunger as countries look ahead to the new set of development goals that will be adopted in September.
